Remember, Remember, The Fifth of November.
Remember, remember the fifth of November, Gunpowder Treason and Plot, I see no reason why gunpowder treason should ever be forgot. Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes,'twas his intent to blow up the King and the Parliament. Three score barrels of powder below, Poor old England to overthrow: By God's providence he was catch'd With a dark lantern and burning match. Holloa boys, holloa boys, make the bells ring. Holloa boys, holloa boys, God save the King! Hip hip hoorah! A penny loaf to feed the Pope. A farthing o' cheese to choke him. A pint of beer to rinse it down. A faggot of sticks to burn him. Burn him in a tub of tar. Burn him like a blazing star. Burn his body from his head. Then we'll say ol' Pope is dead. Hip hip hoorah! Hip hip hoorah! If you dont know what i am talking about...... well.... Educate yourself! | | Saturday, June 24th, 2006 | | 7:36 am |
In very fondest memory of...
Lisa Liburdi - I met lisa when I started at starchoice. She moved here with her boyfriend Dan from Windsor, Ontario to look for work. That was about a year and a half ago, in that time lisa and dan built thier dream home in Calgary and had no doubt plans for a family in mind. She was driven to tears many times at starchoice because she didn't have the underhanded cunning a sale person so needs to survive in that business. She was so determined however, that she came to work every day, packed her modest lunch, and saved every penny she and he had to make their dreams reality. Lisa was also a very talented artist, and extraordinarily creative. One day we were putting together cardboard gravestones, and other creepy halloween decorations to put up at our desks at starchoice, and I remember having the great opportunity to see some of the print making work she had done in post secondary. It was as inspired as she was, and her skill and effort could be easily seen in the select piece she was able to bring with her across country. I shared a Halloween with her, and the Brazilian ( i believe) exchange student who live in the house she shared while she saved for her own. She dressed herself up in plastic snakes and spray painted green hair spray through fishnets to make her skin look scaly. The costume was so last minute i think she finished it on my doorstep. Lisa would have made the funnest mom to some very lucky children. If it was fun, she loved it,and she put 110% into it. People always say "her smile could light up a room" and it never really personified in anyone i knew until i met lisa. She really does have a smile that catches like a yawn, you just couldn't help but join her. Most of all, Lisa Liburdi was the most beautiful, true, genuine woman i have had the pleasure of knowing in my life. Generous, talented and strong. She loved feircly enough for a whole lifetime in the short chapter she had with us. The world needs more people as true as Lisa Liburdi was. Their foot print on this earth is overwhelming. All my best wishes to you Lisa, on the journey you take now, whatever it is. Only now do I start to hope for an afterlife that promises we will meet again some day. I love you, and I miss you. This post is basically for my memory only.
I had the most fucked up dream about you this morning. I dreamt I went to your house, and you were living with a girl i recognized from my work. you were sleeping in your room, but this girl said you didnt mind being woken up and to just knock. so i knocked and you answered with a smoke half smoked already in your hand. Your body was covered in these horrible burns like you had just recently been in a bad fire. you skin was red and crinkly it was awful! you had this "dont worry about me" grin on your face and kissed me on the lips, i could feel then your heart beating at a VERY irregular pace, unhealthy and strange. You wouldnt talk about what was wrong with your heart, or what happened to your body why it was all burned. All your hair was gone and everything. Despite all of it we still did naughty dream things. But then my mom came in the old suburban to come get me to take me to work. you and the girl at the house came too. By the time i was a block away from my house i realized i left my keys on your floor so we pulled over and got out of the suburban, i asked you if it was okay if i came back to your place to get my keys, and go to work from there. You seemed to have no problem with it, and just as you were about to answer a bus came by and drove right through you, like you were a ghost. i said "oh my god! that bus just drive right through you!" you looked at me very surprised and very scared and said "no it didnt!" i kinda nervously laughed and insisted "yes it did! i saw it" you walked back towards me and the car and said "please walk with me, i took a step too far and please dont laugh" and we got back into the suburban. then my sister called and i woke up. If you are reading this, and think you are the subject, you are probably wrong, but go ahead and ask me, maybe ill tell you If you are any good at intrepreting dreams, take a stab at this one! When i was in grade 3, i slept over at a friends house. alone in a strange bed, and an empty room in the early morning the house was robbed, by a man who was never found or convicted. Infact the friend and i never spoke again after the incident as well. He exposed himself to me, threatened my family if i spoke. I also had the underhanded consciencness to tell him my name was the name of a girl i hated in my class. (out of fear he would find me, i told myself later) Wanna see something have a lasting effect on a girls intimacy issues? threaten rape on a 9 year old girl. I was too ashambed to tell even the police what he said to me, and it took a long time before i even told my mother(it was recommended by my shrink like 5 years later) Its early... i am half asleep and none of this is really gunna make sense to most of you. Gold wire frame glasses.... i have to stop using those words together.... it was the way i described this mans glasses in my police report, written out in 9 year old writing in purple pen. and its also the way i constantly for the last 10 or so years of my life descibed the glasses of my "womanly impowered" online character and egotiscal alias "jettera Morrison." I need a professional opinion on this one i think... is there a doctor in the house. god its too early. goodnight. | | Friday, November 4th, 2005 | | 5:07 pm |

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, even if we don't speak often, please post a comment with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want, either good or bad. I promise not to come after you with a spatula, either way. When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people remember about you. | | Tuesday, November 1st, 2005 | | 8:44 am |

ZOMBIE WALK UPDATE!
www.calgaryzombie.com Also note that the route has changed. The meeting place is still the same, but the end point is very different. Updated info can be found at the website, but here it is anyway: The Zombie Walk takes place on Saturday, October 15th. It starts at 3pm from Olympic Plaza and/or 4pm from the park at 17th Ave and 8th St. IMPORTANT ZOMBIE WALK ROUTE CHANGES BELOW!!! The walk will start in two stages, as follows: 1. All "super zombies" are invited to gather at Olympic Plaza no later than 3pm. From Olympic Plaza the horde will head down Stephen Avenue to 8th Street SW, then head south to 17th Ave where we will meet: 2. The lazy zombies. A second group of zombies will gather at the above mentioned park at or around 4pm. Remember - zombies tend to move slowly and occasionally have problems with limbs falling off, body stiffness and possibly police officers. And, despite being animated corpses in search of human brains, pedestrian zombies must obey traffic signals. If you do not see any of your brethren exactly at 5pm, be patient. Mill about and look scary. Once all zombie factions have massed at the park it will be time to head onward, down 17th Ave to Victoria Park C-Train station. Please be sure to bring transit fare (or your bus pass), as we'll be boarding the C-Train and riding south to Chinook Station. Yes, zombies still have to pay bus fare. From Chinook Station it's just a short shamble onwards to Chinook Centre shopping mall. We should arrive just about dinner time. None of the food court eateries serve brains (supposedly) but there should be something in the mall food court for just about everyone. While at the mall, please be on good zombie behaviour - respect your brethren. After dinner at the Chinook food court, the Zombie Walk is officially over. However, any and all zombies are invited to head to The Warehouse Nightclub, located at 731 10th Ave SW (alley entrance) for fun, dancing and drinks. There will be prizes given out for the best zombie costumes, and it's also the release party for the new Depeche Mode album! | | Saturday, October 8th, 2005 | | 11:06 pm |
ZOMBIE WALK UPDATE!
The First Annual Calgary Zombie Walk! Saturday, October 15th - starts at 3pm from Olympic Plaza and/or 4pm from the park at 17th Ave and 8th St. Once all zombie factions have massed at the park it will be time to head onward to the Union Cemetery on McLeod Trail & 25th Ave. For reference, the walk will proceed along 17th Ave to McLeod Trail should any zombie stragglers be left behind and/or spontaneous zombies wish to join the braaiiins procession. Once at the cemetery, please be on good zombie behaviour - respect your brethren. We will linger a short while in the cemetery before moving onwards to nearby Reader Rock Gardens for some games, brains, fun, prizes, brains and a pinata or two. Yes, you do have to dress like a zombie. Those who do not do so are welcome, but risk having their brains eaten by confused zombies. You have to admit - they're not all that smart, but they know a good living brain when they smell it. Potentially useful things to keep in mind: Causes of zombie-ness: As everyone knows - or should know - zombies are usually attributable to one or more of the following: 1. voodoo 2. science gone astray - chemical or biological accidents, experiments, viruses and the like 3. the apocalypse Of course, there are many more possibilties. Be creative. Corpses in all stages of decay are encouraged. For the low-budget zombie: 1. Oatmeal and liquid latex works wonders. 2. Food colouring and corn syrup makes convincing blood, but sticky. However, also tasty. 3. Bloody entrails can be easily made by stuffing pantyhose with old sweatsocks, then soaking the whole thing in a bowl of fake blood. 4. Value Village - but I'm sure it's hardly necessary to mention that. I’ve heard that burying your clothes in the backyard for a week or two can help them look (and smell) extra zombie filthy. Finally: zombies are only really effective when travelling together in large groups. Bring your friends, foes, family and other loved ones. Nothing says you love someone quite like caking yourself in make-up, limping down the street together and eating them in the park! Pass this info on to anyone who might be interested - it has a bit of a 'viral' feel to it, but see zombie cause number 2. It all makes perfect sense. How's that for a slice of fried gold? All you locals on my Flist better be there! | | Wednesday, October 5th, 2005 | | 8:21 am |

Advent Children
Just watched a bootleg version of this movie, it was so awesome. I was disappointed to hear it would not be released in theaters, but i can imagine why. Noone who hadn't played these games is gunna get what is going on.... fans on the other hand. so much fanservice in this movie its awesome. i did make me sad to relive the mourning of Aeris, even when i played through the game myself i developed a keen attachment with her. *weep* The images in this movie are really amazing. I certianly hope that this is where the future of video games are going. the fight scenes, Magic, Summoning. *thumbs up* if anyone wants a copy to sate thier curiousity before novemeber release date, lemme know, ill see to getting you a copy. *sheds a tear for Aeris again* ... Im going to read. |
